industry, FWI Summer experiences will immerse you into the world of fashion through a
feature-packed 2-week itinerary of visits, talks, workshops, experiences, and more.

FWI summer experiences are socially inclusive and designed for applicants
aged between 13 and 17.
Applicants should be able to travel to and stay in New York for 2
weeks from July 11th to 24th.
Applicants should be able to demonstrate a passion and strong
interest in the fashion industry, be comfortable participating in a telephone interview once
their application has been received, and be able to provide written consent to participate
from a parent or guardian, if their application is accepted.

Featuring the largest selection of room types in St. George Towers, this recently renovated tower features a grand lobby that connects to the other towers.

A Full 2-week 'Summer Experience' Itinerary
FWI summer experiences consist of a 2-week itinerary of
daily visits, workshops, and experiences designed to keep you busy, learning, and having
fun. Focused primarily on fashion and expanding your knowledge of the industry, you will
also enjoy a range of social activities, experiencing the sights and sounds of New York!

Take advantage of our experience in planning domestic and
international experiences, with your own dedicated experience manager who will guide you
and your family through the application and on-boarding process, and be on hand to provide
guidance and support as you prepare for an unforgettable Summer.
A full housing package is included. Students will stay in an
NYU campus dorm facility, located in Midtown Manhattan, steps away from the excitement
of New York City. The facility features double rooms with your own workspace, air
conditioning and WiFi. There is also a social lounge. Breakfast and dinner are included
daily, either in the dorm facilities, or at one of the many local eateries that students will visit
as part of their social itineraries.
PLEASE NOTE: Lunches are not included and should be
budgeted for separately.
Arriving into a new city can be exciting but also daunting.
Our city-based local counsellors accompany students throughout their summer experiences,
managing their itineraries, welcoming students upon arrival at the airport, and
accompanying them back to the airport for their departures*, guiding their visits and
experiences, and providing support, guardianship and pastoral care for the full 2 weeks.
PLEASE NOTE: Airport transfers are included in the experience fees, but are subject to
students arriving and departing within designated times. Personalised transfers can be
organised for students arriving or departing outside of these hours. Additional fees will
The FWI Summer Experience 'Fashionista' Welcome Pack
Your welcome pack includes everything you need to settle
quickly into your new city, along with a few surprises! From a local map and insiders city
guide highlighting the attractions, restaurants and events that you'll be visiting, the pack also
contains information and background about the participating fashion companies and brands,
your official FWI welcome letter, and a limited edition FWI tee!
Students should arrive on the morning / afternoon of the 11th July, and depart on the morning of the 24th July.

i. A signed experience agreement and program deposit of (£900.00 / $1,200.00) is payable at the time of booking. The program deposit is part of the total experience fee, not an additional charge.
ii. Transportation to and from the city outside of prearranged times, lunches, snacks, personal spending money, and laundry costs are not included in the experience fee.

FWI Summer Experiences incorporate a range of in-person partner
visits, workshops, and talks, delivered by leading industry professionals. Each element of the
experience will introduce you to a different area of the industry, helping you build a wide
understanding of how the industry works.
Below, you can find details of each of the major 9 fashion elements of the program.
Participate in a guided visit to a fashion designers studio, and gain an overview of how designers conceptualise their designs, using techniques such as sewing, patternmaking, and cutting. Take part in interactive activities with a specific focus on fashion design and production.
Public Relations Agency
Ever wondered what a PR Agency actually does? Here's your chance to find out. Discover the magic of PR and story-telling for Fashion Week. Learn from a member of the Human Resources team how to access the fashion industry and the importance of doing internships to enter the industry.
Love styling? Do you want to learn about the latest trends? Meet with a leading fashion stylist and learn about how to spot trends, style clients and what it takes to stay at the top of the styling world.
Interested in the business side of the fashion industry? In this visit to the head office of a leading fashion house, you will enjoy a guided tour of the office, meet the team, and take part in interactive activities with a specific focus on sales and marketing.
Representing multiple brands and designers, showrooms are the places where buyers go to find new lines and products. During this visit, you will gain an insight into how showrooms work, how they curate brands, and take part in interactive activities focused on buying and merchandising.
Ready for your close-up? This is your opportunity to learn how model agencies work. Top professionals will guide you through the different agency departments - explaining what they do, and the tasks performed in each of them. Take part in interactive activities focusing on modelling, styling, and photography.
Hair & Make-Up
Participate in a hands-on workshop to learn cool tips and
techniques for hair and make-up with a professional make-up artist.
Learn how clothing manufacturers work during this visit to
their facilities, and Participate in activities to learn more about apparel
production, pattern making, and grading.
Participate in a guided visit to an entertaining and educational
fashion museum with inspiring exhibitions to advance your knowledge and

Participate in an admissions information session with the London College of Fashion student admissions team. Designed to help you learn about the various pathways to building a successful career in the fashion industry. The session will help you understand how to apply your talents to meet your aspirations.

Your New York City itinerary will include the following highlights:
Take a stroll through Central Park, the most visited city park in the
United States as well as one of the most filmed locations in the world.
Taste the greatest assortment of Chinese delicacies you can
imagine. Find the best Dim sum spots; try specialty soups, and devour dumplings while
exploring the many cultural and ethnic multiplicities Chinatown has to offer.
Explore the liveliest street juncture of New York! Known as “The
Crossroads of the World”, keep your eyes peeled for street performers, ABC’s Time
Square Studios, Planet Hollywood, MTV headquarters and much more!
The High Line
A public park built on a historic freight rail line raised above the
streets on Manhattan’s West Side, featuring expansive views of the Hudson River, art
displays, open-air café’s, as well as numerous culinary delights. Distinct to The High Line
are beautiful gardens and overlooks with water features lining the pathway of the park.
Top of the Rock
See the most breathtaking view of New York City from an observation
deck 70 floors high! At the top of Rockefeller Center are three observation decks
with unbelievable 360-degree views. Experience a glass ceiling sky shuttle lift you
850 feet into the heavens overlooking all of the city’s attractions and the beautiful

Chelsea has transformed into a contemporary art district and rising hotspot of New York
City, with highlights such as the Chelsea market (an indoor marketplace and mecca for
gourmet food lovers), and Chelsea Piers (a sports and entertainment complex on the

Boat Ride aboard the BEAST
Experience a thrilling speedboat ride that zooms down the Hudson River at speeds

Times Square and Midtown
A melting pot of travel and culture, attractions include the Broadway Theater District, Times

A bustling neighbourhood of Lower Manhattan with art galleries,

Brooklyn Flea Market
One of the most popular tourist destinations in Brooklyn, The New
York Times called Smorgasburg “The Woodstock of Eating.”Smorgasburg &
Brooklyn Flea Market features foods, beverages, and treats from 100+ vendors
from New York City and across the region.
The second largest city in the United States, Brooklyn is home to many of New York’s top
attractions including The Brooklyn Bridge, Botanic Garden in Prospect Park, Flea market,
